A targeted evaluation will draw from relevant data that may include direct assessment, observation, interviews, rating scales, and review of prior records. An evaluation report will be provided outlining results and recommendations. The assessment will be reviewed with the family during a parent consultation.
ADHD is diagnosed only when symptoms are severe enough to affect daily functioning in at least two settings. Symptoms include:
Being unable to sit still, especially in calm or quiet surroundings
Constantly fidgeting
Being unable to concentrate on tasks
Excessive physical movement
Excessive talking
Being unable to wait their turn
Acting without thinking
Interrupting conversations
Present before the age of 12
